How often do you clean out your system?

I mean as in dusting and stuff. Is once every 3 weeks good?

Depends on average dust volume for your room.

I leave a shirt over my PS3 when not in use, but at the same time, you should be cleaning it out a couple times a month.

I dust it off once in a while. Had it for 4 years, no problems.

I had not cleaned out my system since I got it in 2009. However, back in October I got Error 80010514, which basically meant my Bluray Laser couldn't read discs, and it turned out to be because my system was so dirty inside. So I had to bust it open and clean it out.

Can of compressed air, some cotton swabs, some rubbing alcohol, and some slight disassembly, and I had a clean system and a fixed error.

I took mine apart to apply new thermal paste, so I also had the chance to get the dust out. I've used compressed air before, but there certainly looks like there's places where dust can get trapped.
