DS was actually quite good its only real flaw being the dark almost one color look. Course your too busy with the glaive to care. Plus the diffuculty was satisfying compared to a lot of modern games. --- Now playing : Mass Effect, Bulletstorm |

BobberdongPosted 3/22/2013 7:44:47 PM | CrimsonCorp posted...Gameplay wise, Uncharted. But only on Gameplay, in regards to the cover mechanics. Apart from that, they are drastically different.
The previous suggestion of Space Marine is a good one. Doesn't have cover mechanics, but the grimdark setting of the game matches perfectly with Gear's.
Plus Space Marine is a damn good game. Sadly overlooked, but a great game. 100x more so if you are well acquainted with the W40k universe and the awesomeness of the God-Emperor and his Imperium!!! Uncharted is nothing like Gears in terms of gameplay. Closest thing is definitely Space Marine, except in Gears you practically always stay behind cover. Space Marine had much more satisfying up-close melee combat, IMO. --- Any man who's afraid of hiring the best ability he can find, is a cheat who's in a business where he doesn't belong.- Atlas Shrugged |

The games are not similar in theme, but the feel to the controls are close enough IMHO. Was that game any good? --- PSN: Snippuh Raptr: Snippuh |

PlaysOnEasyModePosted 3/22/2013 8:12:47 PM | Just go with Binary Domain like others have said. Its story is good and it does branch off depending on what you do in-game. And even though Uncharted is good, BD is more shooter-heavy like Gears is. Uncharted has more climbing, jumping around, and puzzles if you're into that.
The only thing you need to keep in mind is how BD handles chapter select. This game has an upgrade system and using chapter select (unlocked after beating the game) resets your stats completely. To bypass this, you have to reload your last save and "replay chapter" from the pause menu. This will allow you to go to previously completed chapters while retaining upgrades earned in earlier chapters. However, all progress from that point on will be erased. The game will urge you to create another save to do this on, because it would suck if you're on the last chapter and replayed Chapter 1, only to permanently lose all progress from then on. |
