Hopefully the new guy won't go to a different direction of the awesome Tribute games, but just manage them better.

well based on his linkedin profile he specializes in mobile games development, i hope this is not a sign that they're shifting all focus on that

Hopefully.
Although I don't mind iOS/Android games at all, as long as they get PSP/VITA/3DS/HomeConsole ports after.

But don't see his job profile.
Maybe he specialises to that field as a developer, but a manager is something totally different.

Good, he obviously wasn't doing his job properly.

Why are people acting like all of sudden the games will begin to not suck? One man leaving won't magically bring talent to the losers who don't know anything how to make RPGS, of whom now compromise the Square Enix team of the past 10 years.

It's official, God Exists.

2013 is a bad year for CEOs, managers, presidents and generally franchise-ruiners... first Jay Wilson, then Riccitiello, now Wada.

Next ones in the list:

- Bobby Kotick
- Christian Svensson
- Yoshinori Ono
- Whoever is in charge of Resident Evil at the moment
- Whoever is in charge of Megaman at the moment
- That bandage guy from The Phantom Pain (do we really need a silly thing like that?)

Good riddance, let's hope a better person takes his place.

Nah.

We'll just see Squeenix morph into a mobile phone-only company, developing exclusively on Android, iOS, etc, and focus entirely on microtransactions (like with Final Fantasy Dimensions).

You think I'm joking.

I'm not.

This is how I see Squeenix going in the future. Final Fantasy console games cost enormous amounts of time and resources to produce, with no guaranteed payout if the game is not well received. Cheap, low quality mobile phone games are quick to produce and take almost no resources to make, and by screwing the customer over by providing only a half-done product (forcing the player to "buy" microtransactions to play the game in its entirety), they can ensure, at least in their own mind, a high profit margin.

This is what happens when your company is run entirely by elderly Japanese businessmen who've never played a game in their lives outside of a mobile phone.

If I haven't responded to a post directly addressed to me, that's probably why.

Dimensions had microtransactions? Awesome! :)
