Yeah it's perfectly fine. I've left my PS3 on overnight many times.

As long as its not in a warm or hot place, then it's fine, you can leave it on for 12 hours if you want I left it for like at least half a day on, and downloaded games

Glad DmC shipped a million copies and was a success. Supporting risk-takers and change is how the industry grows.

Yes it is safe. I have left my ps3 on for like a week during the 24hrs endurance races of GT5. There was not an option to save, so i had no choice than leave the console on and is still working fine!

Protip: Ethernet cable

Unless I'm mistaken the fastest you can go with an Ethernet cable is around 125 meg/sec. However it's irrelevant unless you have a solid state drive. I believe that 7200 rpm drives cap out at around 60 meg/second, and 5400 rpm drives about half that.

So, even if you had the worlds fattest Ethernet cable wired direct from the server to your machine it would still take almost 5 minutes to copy onto a 7200 drive, or almost twice as long on a 5400 drive.
