In the end Kojima said something like:

"It will be a different experience, maybe not quite the stealth experience people are expecting from the series."

WTF!? Is MGS infected by the COD virus?

Bit more primitive than that. This is actually swayed by GTA3 back when it released near the time of MGS2. He was impressed by what it brought to the table and has finally gotten around to toying around with the concept himself. Gaming really does move at a glacial pace at times.

Reading that with the right tone might sound snarky or something but I'm really not being facetious.

Should have just made a new damn series. No Hayter = no buy.

Kojima's lying, you fool. David Hayter is more dedicated to the Metal Gear series than Kojima himself, you don't just get rid of someone like that.

Say whatever about what makes sense for voicing in this game, but there is no way Hayter comes close to Kojima in dedication. Kojima has spent over a decade sitting on ideas and personal ambitions, setting them aside when demand has dictated he work on the MGS series to routinely keep the company he works for afloat. Hayter has been dedicated for sure, but Kojima has spent the better part of his life on MGS.

From what Kojima told us about Ground Zeroes in the interview, it still sounds like a stealth game. As in you can choose at what time of day you want to infiltrate a base.

"Kojima said games from Japan are being threatened by the west"

Nope. Games from Japan are being threatened by themselves.

It wouldn't make sense for Hayter to be in this one. At some point, Big Boss's voice changed, whether it's from old age or some incident. I mean if it didn't, Solid Snake would have definitely been thrown for a loop when he first heard Big Boss talk in Metal Gear. Not to mention the ending of MGS4 where Big Boss obviously has a different voice actor with Richard Doyle.

I think the "what about him" guy is the dude helping Big Boss escape the hospital after waking up from the coma. But then again, he was in a coma for like 9 years and the dude helping Snake is still in bandages so maybe not.

MGS is always going to be stealth.. he even went into huge detail how its going to be.. its not going to be an action game.
