Ubisoft: Gamers want Assassin's Creed every year

In other words, Ubisoft has found their cash cow, and they're gonna keep milking. We can now officially place Assassin's Creed on the same level as Madden and Call of Duty.

I don't mind a new AC every year. I'll buy the ones I want, and skip the ones I don't, like I skipped Revelations.

At first I thought the series had potential. Then they started coming out often and the story went all over the place. I think its mainly the MP part they are really pushing for.

Thats like if they pushed an UC each year for its MP focus.

Not even interested in AC4 and I love the AC series... but ever since Brotherhood, it's been declining. ACR felt unnecessary in the story department. AC3 was bland as all hell... yes, great gameplay additions, but bland EVERYTHING else. And ACL was *flips table*.
Rebecca Emily Hollcraft (BECCA) is amazing.
Apparently, I'm "naive" and "cynical". This ISNT possible, people.

I love the series, but I'm just so burnt out I don't even care anymore. After the bugfest of a game that was AC3, I can wait on Black Flag.
May the odds be ever in your favor

gamers: cod is the same every year and the people that buy it are sheep

*ubisoft is doing the same thing with assassins creed*

gamers: nooo this is different! assassins creed isn't the same every year like cod! we aren't sheep!

I think this is where i'm at. Loved everything up until Revelations, then I just couldn't give a turkey. I didn't even end up finishing it. And the sad thing is, by the time I want to give the series another shot, i'll have 17 sequels to catch up on.

"Montreal boss Yannis Mallat says as long as quality remains, gamers will come back every year for more."

What a delusional guy. AC3 was a prime example of what does not have quality.

I have mixed feeling on it being released yearly now. I loved 1, 2 and Brotherhood. Thought Revelations kind of sucked. Was super hyped for AC3 but it took something like 8 sequences before the game really began. WAY too many tutorial missions in it. I dunno. Sorta feel like they're going to kill a great series if they just keep doing these yearly. I can see series fatigue already setting in.
I'd sort of like to see them take a year off and maybe do a Prince of Persia '08 sequel, though that'll probably never happen.
