And they announced a movie that got canceled to. I'm playing the first game again and the graphics have aged really well and atmosphere is awesome and so is the cinmatic story telling. This series shouldn't of died 12 years ago dangit.

The organization later gained greater critical and commercial success for the Fear Effect series with Eidos,[2] although Kronos retains all rights to the franchise.[3] Kronos was busy developing the third installment in that series, Fear Effect Inferno, when publisher Eidos discontinued funding for the project following a major restructuring of their budget. The developer then shopped it around to other publishers but were unable to secure another deal to get the game finished.[4] The company disbanded soon after, with Fear Effect 2: Retro Helix being their final released game.

I still have the first game on the PS1. I do remember the atmosphere being pretty...unsettling, although I was quite young at the time. Good game.

Great games, recently got both of them for my collection. I remember renting them from the video store a long time ago.

It is a real shame. I remembered having a great deal of love for the bold story and its prerendered backgrounds.

Fear Effect 3 was one of many great disappointments along with stuff like Shenmue 3. I have 1 and 2 mint condition copies and I will cherish them forever. In a way the games combined stuff like Resident Evil with cinematic platformers like Out of this World, Flashback, and Heart of Darkness (where it was trial and error, death was always just around the corner)

2nd one was dumb with nothing but sexual fan-service. The first one was odd, but interesting and unpredictable all at the same time.
