When a new Halo or Gears releases you know it'll sell into the Millions. When Mario and Zelda, heck any Nintendo title launches you know it'll sell. On Sony's platforms though it seems that for every success Uncharted, God of War etc there are 5 other exclusives that get lost in the mix. Stuff like Starhawk, Sly 4, PS Allstars, Resistance 3, Twisted Metal, etc.

No, I think the quality is slightly off where it should be and contrary to what the neck beards believe, most people do just like Battlefield and call of duty.

Poor marketing. I'm sure they don't expect every PS3 exclusive to sell like Uncharted, Gran Turismo or God of War though.

This.
Sony doesn't pump out the generic bangbangs and dudebro action games like Microsoft does.
And, in addition to the childrens, Nintendo has a loyal fanbase that have been buying, and will buy, the same games for years.

Sony is really, really good at milking the f*** out of a great series, causing everyone to hate it, and then forgetting about it forever. They need to find that sweet spot between pumping out cashgrabs and spacing out releases/varying gameplay enough to make it seem like it's not a cashgrab.

It is poor marketing that is the problem.

This creates another problem if we want better marketing that will require less games being made.

Looks ar Microsoft they have 2 big franchises Gears and Halo. They market the hell out of them and sell millions.

We should be lucky Sony don't follow that pattern and they give up lots of games.

Due to recent economic conditions, and the rising cost of Electricity, Gas and Oil, the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off.

Because Sony doesn't get that games need to be more than just cinematic set-piece driven experiences.
