I hate using the term "casual gamer", but whatever; it works.

Some games may not belong on the list but WHATEVER. I was going to put CoD, but this board has an unfathomable level of hate towards it which would produce biased results.

Call of Duty appealed to a large majority.

I wouldn't worry about the whole labeling thing, it's just a stupid schtick people use.
"GameFAQs is a giant MMO text adventure." - Clarifinatious
"I've beat it twice." - TheLichLord

Resident Evil. None of the other games on that list even come close imo.

Quite a few on this list. I don't think Tekken has, but I haven't played one since 3, so what do I know?

Call of Duty appealed to a large majority.

And part of that majority play nothing but games like Call of Duty. Just like how there are people out there who only play sports games. This is why they sell so many copies. It appeals to a group outside of the core gamer demographic.
Not arguing, just explaining what I see that large majority is. :p

On the subject of casuals:
If someone is on here actively communicating with a part of the gaming community, then I'd hardly call them "casual". That word has been thrown around too much to the point where people just attach it to someone who might play one type of game, or a game that could be a little easier than some others.
You know the people who see you "fix" a computer by adding an extra icon or changing what format the folder is in, and think your a computer wiz? The ones who play Words With Friends and Angry Birds on their break at work and think you're in your own little geek world knowing what a "Marry-oh" or "Mister Chef" are? Those are the casuals.
