Something more annoying than dodging 200 lightning bolts in FFX...

Except they aren't. Yeah, they're some of the few games that have QTE's that don't intrude as much, but QTE's are flawed by nature. No matter how awesome you try to make a QTE, it still can't compare to being able to do the same and many more with the actual gameplay mechanics, rather than pressing buttons in scripted cutscenes.

It's the opposite... QTE's require no skill. And they're always the same, which means that they restrict gameplay. Developers use QTE's because they aren't competent enough to create the same kind of experience through gameplay.

While QTE's aren't always 'bad', giving the same kind of experience through actual gameplay mechanics is always better. On top of that, this generation QTE's have mostly no real use. They're just thrown in because it's on their list or something. Just look at how many games use QTE's for dumb events like pushing rocks or opening doors and chests -__-

pushing the right button at the right time is a skill also QTE is part of gameplay, a different kind of gameplay, and they are not always the same some games randomize the button presses,
also they can be used in situations where normal gameplay wouldn't work well like in a middle of a cutscene

no one had a problem with QTE until this gen. It is the gen of the complainer though so its not surprising.

usually though QTE are full of things that your character cant do or it looks more fluid when its a QTE rather than you doing it yourself.

I prefer it most of the time, it lets me focus on the action and the things going on.

- "DC Universe Online": Loading issues:
You leave a building. On your end, you're still on the loading screen. Others already outside see you standing there. If you have no mic, though would think you're not in front of the tv.

Or worse; the enemy is attacking you. When you finally load in, you're either knocked out or have low Health.

- Any fighting game against the AI:
It starts fun, but even on "Easy", the AI knows what attack you're going to use everytime.

- PS Store:
That moment when you want to spend money, so you browse and add items to the cart, only to have the service go into slow, laggy mode. When this happens, you attempt to enter your password at checkout, only to have to keeo backspacing since the lag makes you miss a letter/number in your password.

- Hard Corps: Uprising:
Trying to finish Arcade mode without dying, only to get to the last level and die. Online co-op makes it worse with lag.

It was annoying but it was easy. I spammed the same bolt over and over and got it in 10 minutes. I had more problems with the butterflies.

lies

Nah, Butterflies were worse than Lightning bolts as long as you had No Encounters or whatever.
