Do you think this gen is the golden age of gaming?

If not, which one do you think is? or if you think it hasn't happened yet.

No, there has never been a "Golden Age", nor will there ever be one.

Anybody that says otherwise is delusional at best.

There are some fantastic years for gaming though.

My personal Golden Age was PS2/XBox/Gamecube era. The current gen has been fantastic, but too focused on shooters and Japanese game quality has been deteriorating.

Hands down, for anyone that was there, the late 70's/early 80's arcade hall was by far the golden age.

The sights, the sounds, the people (there were no pock faced fan boys bickering about which corporate logo was the shiniest), the greasy food. There was an atmosphere, excitement and wonder (everything was brand new) that may never be captured again

How could you call this gen "golden age of gaming" when 80% of the games are mindless shooters pandering to the COD crowd.

You know, whenever a poster uses the terms "b**** and whine" or "piss and moan" or something similar, I simply ignore the entire post.

Came here to say exactly that.

There will always be good games and terrible games (and maybe every few years or so, a great game). Whatever most people consider a Golden Age is when most of their favorite games came out.
