What is a gaming "statement" you will never agree with?

That some games are good because they're an "experience". It's bulls*** because that means the only way I can enjoy the game is to experience it the exact same way everyone else does, and screw that, I'll play how I want. If the game sucks because of that, then guess what? The game sucks.

^ this statement i dont agree with.

seriously this is worse than saying a game needs to have good graphics

"Final Fantasy X is ruined because Tidus is a whiny brat."
Hell no. He has a lot to whine about, and I never felt that it was excessive.
And personally, he makes the game more enjoyable (for me).
And also that Halo 4's campaign sucks. It doesn't.

"Story is pointless in a Fighting game." If this was true we would just have different colored non textured polygon fighters With an updated fighting engine ever so often.....Wait they don't do that so story must matter some how.

Street Fighter II - The World Warrior (march 1991)
Street Fighter II - Champion Edition (april 1992)
Street Fighter II Turbo - Hyper Fighting (december 1992)
Super Street Fighter II - The New Challengers (october 1993)
Super Street Fighter II Turbo (march 1994)
Hyper Street Fighter - The Anniversary Edition (december 2003)

Guilty Gear XX (2002)
Guilty Gear XX #Reload (2003)
Guilty Gear XX Slash (2005)
Guilty Gear XX Λ Core (2006)
Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus (2009)
Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus R (2012)

Wait, they do that.
IMO, a fighting game can have a good story (persona 4 arena), but the lack of it doesn't make it a bad fighting game (marvel vs capcom games). So yeah, it is pointless (since it doesn't make or break the game), as much as in any other sports game.

Except Street Fighter, Guilty Gear and Marvel vs. Capcom have stories, characters with back stories that enhance the story and other story elements (Capcom releases extra media to go with Street fighter for instance Street Fighter 4 and Super Street Fighter 4 being a recent example.)

Street Fighter 4 to Super 4 had added story elements as well. They also routinely give us new characters with each main game. Characters with backgrounds and models not just Polygons with "insert fighting style" as their names. Guilty gear is a better example but still has characters with back stories, sure they've been fairly lame with that series for a while but Blazblue has full blown Visual Novel story modes.

Also you forgot Guilty Gear Isuka which not only changed up the basics by allowing four person battles but also added in a Streets of rage style Beat em up with story elements and a Customizable Robot Character.

And of course Pretty much every fighting game does these things. So the correct answer is that they do create story and they release updates without story progress but They have never made a game that stripped those elements out. Also most of those SF 2 and GG2 copies wouldn't have been needed if they had the ability to patch games back then.

You may not be as good as I am, I may not compare to you, but until you prove either; I'd wager we'd both be better off staying quiet about it.

That both Demon and Dark Souls are actually good games and that they are hard. But the smart people know its just trial and error difficulty and once you know what to expect around a corner and block all day, the game is easy.

Recommended games: Guild Wars 2, The Witcher 2, Skyrim, Batman Arkham city
Terrible games: Dark Souls, Demon Souls, Diablo 3, X-Com, War Z, EVE Online.

Oh, that reminds me. The perception that if a game involves memorization, it is easy, regardless of the challenge involved in memorizing it. :P

Although, I agree that DaS difficulty is massively exaggerated. They still aren't particularly easy.

Polite conversation should never include Politics, Religion or what constitutes an RPG.
Playing a game for it's story is like watching porn for it's story.

Voice chat is useful. Every person I've heard using it is always performing the worst because they're distracted with their conversation. It should be removed from all future consoles, but sadly, won't because all the Chatty Cathys need it to talk with friends instead of playing video games.

And if you think you need it for strategy, if you're a video game player, you should have learned by now to act on instinct and synch yourself up with your teammates instead of relying on vocal commands.

This and that graphics are more important than 60fps. a smooth game is better looking to me than any 30 fps game .

I can't just list one, so here are several:

"If a game doesn't have multiplayer, it's not worth buying."
"If a game doesn't have achievements/trophies, it's not worth playing."
"If you want story in a game, go and read a book."
"Graphics don't matter at all."
"Games are much buggier nowadays." (relative to the complexity at the very least)

I'm sure I have some better ones in the back of my head somewhere, but I can't think of them at the moment.
