Is 60 dollars a game too much? If so what price should games be?

I always hear people complain about the price of games and I am wondering what should be the new price.

Also, are there any games worth the 60 bucks?

I'd say Deus Ex HR is, but I know a lot of people don't like that game.

FF13 is a game I really think should have been a lot cheaper. And though I didn't buy the game because I knew it was going to be crap. I still feel sorry for those who wasted 60 bucks on it.

I always wait for new games to go down to $40. All you have to do is wait a month or two before the price goes down.

I would like for games to be 40, but thats probably too low for devs. 50 is usually what i would pay max for many of my games and luckly theres alot of 10 bucks off sailes. I do buy some 60 dollar games but they are fighters.

Considering the time and resources that are put in each game, I think $60 is reasonable.

Honestly, what's with the hate? FF13 is not a bad RPG at all. It is a 'bad' Final Fantasy game, but it is not a bad RPG. I would say that game is worth $60. If I enjoy the game, then that game is worth $60 in my book (I don't care how short it is).

I wish new games would be 49.99 retail and 39.99 digital . I honestly don't get why digital and retail are the same price . It seems they would be saving money not using discs , cases , paper for box art and manuals . Consumers should see some of those savings too

in my opinion its only hard to justify 60 dollars because of dlc, if $60 got you a complete game then its no problem, but thats over now.

in my case I no longer buy launch games, there is no point when i can wait for a year for the goty/complete/collectors version for 30-40 bucks. honestly, i think games should be priced depending on their content, pc does this fairly well.

I was bored with it and so were MANY others.
Took way to long to get decent, and by then it was just dreadful.

Dead Island and DI Riptide on the other hand actually entertained me. Playing with people and killing zombies while getting chase by Jason and such was actually worth the 60 bucks IMHO.

But I do know that their is a large dislike for the Dead Island franchise.

$60 retail is fine, but digital versions should be at least $10 cheaper.

Its enough to make me pass on most games, sadly. Its an investment to me. But its not like wayyy too much or anything, its just a significant chunk of change.
