Trust us, get the slim model. The Fat Model is terribly defective and will just break down again within months or a year at best.

You will lose the ability to play PS2 games only, but finding a (component)-cable with a slim-PS2 will help you out with that problem, and both are very very cheap these days.

That's the downside of corporations involving video games, and one of the reasons why sites like Steam and Gog exist. Overtime I see old tech. games making a transition to digital only one day.

I've read some problems with the super slim, I don't remember the details anymore, but there are some hardware issues, it's not terribly bad issues, but just issues that just make the newest system annoying to deal with.

The people in this site will give you the details.

Honestly, both are fine, and both are reliable.

Unless I'm mistaken they are only producing Super Slims now, so you mind not even be able to get hold of a slim, unless you buy second hand. (Protip: Do not buy a second hand PS3)

The only difference is:
- The super slim is smaller (obviously)
- The super slim can't stand on it's side
- The super slim has a manual top loading tray
It uses less power too, from what I understand.

It really won't make much of a difference to your actual gaming experience.

Yeah that's a few of them, I figured having less power would make games even more unejoyable, I did a notice a slowdown in my games when I made a transition from Fat to slim.

Performance wise, there should be no difference between any of the models. The specs are exactly the same in terms of CPU and RAM. The only reason the older models required more power is because they used less efficient components.

The performance of the systems are the same. You are just seeing things that are not there.

Topics like this are why I'm glad cloud saves exist.....Nothing hurts more than to lose all the time you've invested into these games.

I've lost my FF13 and Demon Souls save one time before cloud was around....

You can get the consoles back but not time.
