Yes or No: Far Cry 3 has the best open world environment on PS3.

Yes

I love open world games, Skyrim, Red Dead Redemption, and Fallout 3 are some of my favorites. But after playing Far Cry 3 the environment blows away all the rest.

Christ No. Hell Far Cry 2's is better. At least it's unique as opposed to tropical island with ancient ruins that appears in every game ever.

FC2 also looked like poop.

FC3 is up there though.

Agreed.

Anyone remember that tropical island in Battlefield?
How about that ancient ruin in GTA IV?
Oh! Can't forget the island and ruins in ArmA 2!

Get my point? Also, Far Cry 2 is really unique with it's sandy locals and shanty towns. Real unique.

The only game I played on a tropical island was Just Cause 2, but that didn't have nearly as much detail. I don't know how you think every open world game is like that.

It's great, but nothing compared to RDR. That's the only game where a vast wilderness full of nothing is appealing. The details of that world are just incredible. Skyrim is really the only other game that perfectly captures the world it's going for while still being fun.

I love RDR and Skyrim. But RDR lost points with me for not being able to interact with the environment as much, like the ability to swim. Skyrim pisses me off with all the mountains that you have to travel through and find a way to get to your destination.

Definitely, but overall RDR was just pure immersion for me. Swimming isn't a big deal and I just instantly felt like I was in that world.
