Is there such a thing as too much action in video games?

There are more cinematic moments in games like Uncharted but there is still plenty of regular gameplay. And a lot of action in games isn't really anything new - there were shooters in previous gens as well. There are just now more enemies allowed on-screen w/ new systems.

Also there are still plenty of games that aren't filled with cinematic moments but with fun action/adventure gameplay that just relies on player control. MGS 4, Prototype, Infamous, Max Payne 3, etc. I'm playing Far Cry 3 now and it is all about having full control over your character and it's great. I don't want cinematic moments in games like Uncharted to go away because they can be great. No reason why we can't have it both ways :)
