Payday: The Heist is exactly like L4D but with robbing banks and cops/swat instead of zombies.
It's on PSN for 15-20 bucks i believe?

Also there is a sequel coming out.

I might catch flack for saying this, but I'd suggest trying to scrounge up a copy of Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. It's kind of Left-For-Dead-esque.

God Mode is a lot closer to Serious Sam, but you still have four players fighting hoards of undead, and also cyclops and minotaurs and harpies. Only ten bucks, too. Really fun.

While not exactly giving you horde-level fights like in L4D, Dead Island has a co-op adventure campaign.

The PC version has a crossover of L4D, one of the maps is Mercy Hospital does the PS3 version have that?

And I liked Payday I put nearly 100 hours into it but it's not anywhere near as good as L4D

It doesn't have a "horde mode" that I know of, but the regular game has a full campaign playable in single-player like Left for Dead, and with the DLC, you get a second campaign featuring some good guys that's also playable single-player. Basically, you pick four out of six people for your team, use XP to upgrade perks and unlock guns for selection upon level start, that kind of thing.

It's not the greatest game in the world, but if you want something that's kind of like Left for Dead, that might be your best bet on PS3. Level-based structure, "safety checkpoints," team of four people surviving against zombies, the only thing it has that Left for Dead doesn't have is the occasional living human with a gun and a third-person perspective.
