Why are they bothering to release these obscure PS1 imports??

Zero Kara no Mahjong
Zero Jaro no Shogi-Shogi Youchien Ayumi-gumi~

Those just came in today

Prior to that, Sentimental Graffiti....a PS1 Japanese import visual novel (meanwhile PS3 visual novels are somewhat "banned" from PS3 because "they're not games" law) and "Favorite Dear ~ Jyunpaku no Yogensha" (what IS that??)

Who the hell's going to buy those??

If you're going to bother to bring over PS1 imports, why not:

Tobal 2
X/1999
Psychic Force 2 (EU version)
Microman
Dr. Slump
Racing Lagoon
Remote Control Dandy
Super Robot Wars Alpha, Alpha Gaiden
Ninpu Sentai Harikenger (Power Rangers Ninja Storm)
Pepsiman
Critical Blow
Elder Gate
Gear Fighter Dendoh
Gundam: Char's Counterattack
70's Robot Anime Geppy X

You know....games that are easy to pick up and play regardless of the language barrier...

yea i have no idea what they're thinking with those games. i'd buy that char's counter attack game though. as well as the old Battle assault games if they ever went up on psn

I honestly have no idea. Anybody with that much interest and the language ability required surely would find it easier to just start a Japanese PSN account and buy a Japanese PSN card online to get their fix. It's pretty weird.

It costs them almost nothing to put those games up on the store...so I guess they're doing it to fill up the store and make it seem like there's a lot of content. But quality>>>quantity of course.....

what i think is more or less going on is that, since they are failures at bringing us anything half descent in our north american line up (don't know if it is incompetence or they are running into hard times getting licensing for the old games), they are taking already completed games from the japanese psn just to pad out the library, to make us think that there is more then there is

Ask the name of the company that paid sony to host their games (Gungho)

Digital games are free money for them, why wouldn't they?

I'm even more amazed that they're charging $6 a piece for them. I can see a few people throwing out a dollar or two just because they think it'd be funny, but for $6 they're just going to sit there and confuse people.
