Ubisoft not expecting Assassin's Creed IV to outperform Assassin's Creed III

Not sure if posted, but:

Ubisoft is not expecting this year's Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag to perform better than last year's Assassin's Creed III. CEO Yves Guillemot said today during a investor conference call that the French publisher is not modeling year-over-year franchise sales to increase.

"To come back to Assassin's Creed IV, in our numbers we have…we expect less than last year," Guillemot said today in response to an analyst question.

Though Ubisoft is not forecasting Black Flag to outsell Assassin's Creed III, Guillemot said the potential for the game is greater compared to last year. He said this is due to the game's pirate theme being more relatable than last year's American Revolutionary War setting.

"We are actually pushing to achieve more than last year because we think the pirate segment is a great segment that can generate a lot more on a worldwide basis than what was achieved last year," Guillemot said. "But we wanted to be prudent on our expectations so that it can probably be a bonus if it comes."

Realistic expectation? You guys looking forward to it?

I've actually yet to get around to playing ACIII, so... yeah, not touching any other new AC title till I beat it.

Can't wait. Another game about assassins set in another one of the most non-assassin time period imaginable...

Hmm, not sure bout that... It's gonna be on like multi console and next gen consoles. And launch titles usually have good sales in terms of lifetime totals.

This game should have just been some new IP called Pirate's Creed or whatever because it sure as hell isn't about assassins anymore.

So they know people wouldn't blindly buy AC games anymore?

After a let down like ACIII, i'm sure people will skip this garbage as well

AC III did fantastically well, so it will be a huge task for IV to outperform it. I don't see it happening to be honest
PS3 without Immersion lacks Rumble and PS3 without Rumble lacks Immersion. Finally Sony did the right thing
