Leave it to GameFAQs to find a problem with bathing. xD

It amazes me how mildly erotic fanservice is considered worse than the graphic violence seen in games like God of War. So apparently young women in a suggestive bathing scene is "bad" but involuntary brain surgery on an elephant man is "good?"

Missing the point. The eroge-type crap put in these games is to mask bad game design and sell units. The knocking off heads of monsters in God of War is just stupid fun. You could take all of the blood and guts out of GoW and it would still be a solid game.

Take Witcher for example. It's got plenty of real nudity. And it's pretty gratuitous. But it's not used to cover up stuff. Witcher 2 is a pretty good game. Solid, if a little clunky at first gameplay, and a terrific story that's told very well.

Me, and a few others, aren't really judging it from a moral standpoint. We're judging it for the effects it's had on gaming, specifically the stagnant JRPG genre.

Nobody said such scenes were good or not as bad. Why does one have to be "good" or "bad?" Can't they both be "bad" in a moral sense?
There's also the fact that one scenario involves "young women" with childlike appearances and one does not that needs to be considered.

Also, what the above poster said.

I see....so you're complaining because the only companies still willing to develop RPGs for Sony's poorly designed HD console aren't catering to your tastes. You're just going to have to accept this turn of events much as how Nintendo fans had to accept that Final Fantasy 7, etc. wasn't going to be on the N64.

JRPG genre not stagnant, handheld system have lof of them,
3ds/vita have a lot of non moe jrpg
#127KabtheMentatPosted 5/17/2013 12:55:29 AM
Well, as it turns out they're not catering to anyone's taste really. Sales pan this out. That in part is the problem. Low sales mean low profit, which means they don't invest much money into developing these games to begin with.

You might be right that this is now the norm and I'll just have to accept that the JRPG genre has been taken over by weirdos that like doll dresses. That kinda sucks because I've been a JRPG fan since the days of Final Fantasy 1 on the NES. It's sad is what it is.

This is true. Which is why I'm considering getting a 3DS...despite having dropped a significant amount of money on building a gaming PC recently. I do like JRPGs. I just don't like 90% of what's been passed off lately.

My main gripe with JRPGs of this gen is that they've almost universally relied on this kind of thing to mask bad story telling, bad game play, and worse graphics and sound. But they pop in some panty shots and suggestive scenes and suddenly people are buying them. And apparently buying enough of them to warrant even more of them being developed.

Let's see. JRPGs with that:

Great, I see 100+ posts hoping there would be some decent discussion but all I get is the same tired arguments from people who clearly have no interest in actually playing this game and just want to whine about lolis and anime. I wish people would just ignore these threads if they didn't like it, I don't care what your worthless opinion is.

As for the game itself I'm interested, a slightly more serious tone but with the same kind of system as Neptunia. I just doesn't have anything annoying like the share system.
