The Last of Us hype you up until you scream like a little girl thread

Uncharted is a relentless parade of set-pieces, but Naughty Dog's new game breaks the action up with moments of surprising serenity

Each and every kill feels like a distinct decision ó as opposed to another indiscriminate notch on the belt.

The truth is that, from what we could try in our hour of gameplay, we found a solid game, funny, intelligent, and full of facets.

IGN
The Last of Us stunned me. Not in any one aspect, but through its collective polish and crisp attention to the smallest details. And itís unlike any adventure Iíve embarked upon. Itís not an action game. Itís not survival. Itís not horror. But it is pretty damn special.

Joypad.dk
After having played the demo 4-5 times, I am convinced that The Last of Us is an excellent example of an upcoming big game. Atmosphere, people, graphics, sound, control, and the whole thing is the setting for a great gaming experience.

Johnny Cullen
But if Uncharted 2 was the start of Naughty Dogís journey to telling more mature stories in its games, The Last of Us looks set to be the pinnacle of it so far.

Joystiq
The Last of Us is a crafty, tense experience in which my attempts to attack bandits and disfigured creatures head-on usually resulted in a gruesome death.

Metro
But The Last Of Us is a much darker story and goes out of its way to break as many gameplay links as possible with its sister series.

NGB Blog
However, The Last Of Us looks like itís going to be a step beyond that, and has the potential to be the systemís final true masterpiece.

Polygon
Our hands-on time with The Last of Us' campaign was just as uncomfortable and dread-inducing as the last time we played it. Though it's filled with horrors, there are brilliant touches of humanity ó mostly from Ellie, who exhibits real personality in the way she rambles nervously as she and Joel explore desolate towns

Shacknews
As Naughty Dog slowly unravels more of their latest adventure, I'm excited to say that not only does it hold up, it gets even better.

I just can't get hyped for this game for whatever reason. Odd because I like Naughty Dog and I like post-apocalyptic stuff. For some reason though every time I watch gameplay I get bored after a minute or so and lose interest. Just screams rental to me.

My point is that it does not seem to look very good, imo, so I do not know why anyone would anticipate this game. Looks like all the other low brow drivel to release during modern gaming gen. ugghhh no more please.

I agree with a lot of people in this thread. I bought a PS3 so I could get some the exclusives, but with Last of Us I couldn't give less of a **** about it.

I'm actually way more excited for a $20 Kickstarter funded PC game coming next month.
