What are the worst "professional" reviews you've read, regarding a video game?

Some of the worst reviews I've read was on EGM. The reviewers were bunch of Microsoft Xbox 360/Halo fanboys. I remember they were hesitant to give Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare high reviews because it wasn't Halo. They also expressed their hate towards the PS3 at the time (2007 to 2008) so any PS3 title gets a negative review from them.

IGN also had some horrible fanboy reviews, notable Halo 4. Fanboy much review right there.

There are so many...but IGN's God Hand is infamous lol-worthy, especially when reading up the follow-up drama behind it.

When IGN gave diablo 3 a 9.5. Review was from Anthony G. I never took that guys reviews seriously anymore after that. He is such a horrible reviewer.

Recommended games: Guild Wars 2, The Witcher 2, Skyrim, Batman Arkham city
Terrible games: Dark Souls, Demon Souls, Diablo 3, X-Com, War Z, EVE Online.

This one is really bad, it's obvious they didn't play the game more than 15 minutes:

http://ca.ign.com/articles/2010/08/10/monster-rancher-ds-review

"Once you've received your new special friend, you'll want to help him be the best he can be. To do this, you'll need to send him to ranked tournaments, which will help him level up his class. Instead of battling until your monster drops like you do in Pokemon, every fight is limited to one minute. You can either control the battle or let your monster fend for itself -- there doesn't seem to be an advantage either way."

Obviously has no clue how the battle system works, Monster Rancher DS's battle system is actually very exploitable, to the fact that you can win pretty much every battle even if you're seriously outclassed by your opponent by abusing defense panels.

This is also really sad:

http://ca.ign.com/articles/2007/11/08/super-mario-galaxy-review

"Galaxy really does feel like the 'spiritual sequel' to Mario 64. It is Super Mario 64 in outer space."

Except, you know, for the fact that they play nothing alike and this is one of the major divisions in the Mario fanbase.

The vast majority of reviews for commercial Roguelikes before 2010-ish.

They were almost always done by people who had absolutely no familiarity with the subgenre and what the appropriate standards are for them.

Also, Chess is a game of skill much like all gameplay only video games. So it is pretty mindless if you think about it.-mtjormitch

Can't trust on reviews & fans anymore. Only option is to take risk with interesting looking game.

Some of Xplay's late PS2 game reviews, the Xenosaga III one in particular is cringeworthy.

Yeah, at least they wore their bias on a sleeve though.
