Looking for job system RPGs

I highly recommend Final Fantasy 5.

Not only does it have an excellent and highly customizable job system, it actually has challenging boss battles all the way through. In other words, there's actual incentive to utilize a lot of strategy with the job system instead of mindlessly leveling up and beating everyone easily that way.

I often feel in terms of gameplay, FF5 might as well be the best FF.

I don't know of any RPGs where you actually get employed by somebody off the top of my head.

Can you change jobs in Disgaea? I don't remember much but I thought you had to hire a new character for a new job or maybe you could reincarnate someone at level 1. That completely misses what was fun about FFT with trying to mix jobs and master several of them. I could be wrong can someone explain how it worked?

You pay to buy and use units in Soul Nomad and Hoshigami.

Dragon Warrior VII

It may be PS1 but it's bigger than alot of PS2/3 games and has the retro feel. The job system is fun. By mastering 2 or more jobs you create new jobs.
