EA Exec VP: "You have to surprise people and take risks. If you don't, you die."

EA should have risked not attempting to appeal to a wider demographic with DS3 then -_-

I don't know anyone who would consider ****** DRM/download service and turning off multiplayer servers a pleasant surprise.

"we're making mirror's edge 2, it's not a new IP but well...."

"and we're making star wars battlefront, that's not a new IP either but technically.... it is"

I have to admit, that is a surprising thing for EA to say.

It's just a load of bull. They haven't taken a risk in decades.

That's why it's surprising. That those ass hats think they ever bring anything new to the table.

Should follow your own advice, EA, before giving it.

Mirrors Edge was a huge risk, and didn't sell that well, Yet DICE is hard at work on Mirrors Edge 2. Seems risky to me

Garden Warfare, though using the Plants vs Zombies name, is such a huge departure that it should be considered its own game. New IPs are always risky ones.

Just because EA keeps pushing out what sells for them, doesn't mean that they don't take risks. If you can't see that EA DOES take risks, then you probably need prescription glasses

PS3 without Immersion lacks Rumble and PS3 without Rumble lacks Immersion. Finally Sony did the right thing

Right turning one IP into another shooter is super risky. And any money says they try and do the same with Mirror's Edge 2.
