Why is violence more accepted in video games than nudity or sex?

#1181stCommanderPosted 11/11/2013 4:49:02 PM
How can nipples, sex scenes that doesn't even show the genitals and a shower scene be worst or more 'offensive' than decapitating someone in cold blooded, mass murdering innocents and blowing people in pieces?

Nothing against violence in video games, but I think the intolerance of sex and nudity in video games is ridiculous.

It's the same for movies. It's just kinda a glitchy part of western culture.

Because people are prudish asses who are totally fine with seeing a body hacked into pieces.

It's America, mostly. Apparently Europe doesn't mind sex and nudity as much. Somehow our culture mutated to become like this. It's a bit depressing, honestly.

Because violence works better as a gameplay mechanic than nudity/sex.

Almost every bit of nudity I've seen in games has either been in misogynistic/poor taste, or just flat out awkward

The only exception I can think of is when Max is in the Strip club in Max Payne 3.

Oh c'mon now, one could easily make a rhythm game about sex. Could be a lot of fun, as long as you only need one hand to play it.
