So, Amazon's started charging tax on online purchases...

#1MarblesbunbunPosted 11/14/2013 3:00:23 AM
Word of warning for people living in these 16 states, Amazon has begun to charge sales tax on all online purchases made.
This slightly hampers people like me who would use Amazon due to lower prices and no tax on purchases.

Here are the 16 States
Arizona
California
Connecticut
Georgia
Kansas
Kentucky
Massachusetts
New Jersey
New York
North Dakota
Pennsylvania
Texas
Virginia
Washington
West Virginia
Wisconsin

Just put a fake address for another state with no tax.

Then my packages would never arrive.
I'd have to ship all of my items to my friend's house in NH, or my parent's house in ME.

It's an online code, will be displayed right after purchase, no physical shipping. If TC doesn't mean online codes, Amazon was charging tax before.

When he said online purchases, I thought he meant "purchases that you made online, aka Amazon" not "purchases for digital content".

Either way, I already get taxed for my physical purchases through Amazon as it is.

Can't you just use one of those mail forwarding services that give you an address?

That's what a lot of Aussies use to buy stuff from the States where the buyer only ships within US or companies that prohibit their products from being sold overseas, like Asics shoes (bloody things cost $200 in Aus).
