7 years later, PS3 does not have a proper turn based JRPG. I do not understand

PS and PS2 were swamped with JRPGs. With the SNES and PS, JRPGs became my favorite kind of games, and the sole reason why I used to buy PlayStations in the first place (obviously that has all changed with the PlayStation 3).

So, what I am wondering is, what do video game developers and Sony have against turn based JRPGs these days? Obviously they are one of the most popular types of games, that put the PlayStation on the map in the first place, so why the hell would developers become pigheaded and flat out refuse to make them anymore?

Why does PS3 not have any proper traditional turn based JRPGs?

(not talking about SRPGs, and not sure why people occasionally include them, when they're not the same)

I would agree with you but then we would both be wrong.

You only deserve to play FIFA games.

Who says they aren't popular anymore?

They are not available to buy, so you can't just say they're not popular. If you cannot buy turn based JRPGs, how the f*** can you judge and say they're not popular? Are you basing that on sales on the zero turn based JRPGs made for the PS3 this gen or what?

Your logic is frail.

They aren't being made BECAUSE they aren't popular.

I have a bad opinion and horrible stale taste in games: the topic.

Nah, that uses a battle system that's more like Secret of Mana, or something. It's a hybrid of turn-based and action-based. At least, from what I remember of it.

FF13 is turn-based, but extremely fast turn-based that's like 10-2 on speed. Wizardry is turn-based. The first Hyperdimension Neptunia game is turn-based. Trinity Universe is turn-based. I think Last Rebellion was turn-based, but I'd be lying if I said I played more than the first battle - that's the only game that has turned me off that quickly from it.
