...Which is better, service the ps3 or buy new one?
Heard the new slim ps3's hdd is bad (Hitachi) n will eventually make bad performance of the ps3, drop framerate etc...is it true?

Depends how badly you want your saves... assuming you cant access them anyway. Otherwise servicing it will get you a year maybe if you are lucky.

Buy a new one. Get rid of the worries of your old one getting YLOD again.

trophy's are important
saves are not (unless working on a game and haven't completed it all).

all signs point to new ps3.

I just buy a new one. Had 1 ylod in the last 5 years but it had gone far and beyond it's call of duty. Compared to burning out 2 x360s in about 3 years total. Nothing against Msoft, my original xbox is STILL running like a boss and it has been put through the grinder!

2 bills is a great deal for a brand new ps3 not to mention your built in bluray. All about those Game of Thrones Brays!
