So deleting "game data" is the way to free up space, yes?

My PS3 is getting full and I need more space for new games. Deleting the "game data" for old games but not the "save data" is what I want to do, right? That will just get rid of the install data but not my saves? And the only downside to this is that the next time I put that game whose game data I deleted, I'll need to reinstall, but not update?
I forget what I wanted to put here.

Correct. Deleting game data will free up a lot of space.

The only thing you are wrong about is that you will need to do the updates again. Also keep in mind that a lot of games don't have separate files for dlc and deleting the game data will delete any dlc you got.
Every time I finish a Studio Ghibli film, I just don't want to live in reality anymore. It just takes my breath away.
