why do people actually say Bioshock games have amazing story telling...

I am half way through Infinite and even though I feel immersed in its world with all the small radio clips and scenery around, there isn't much of a story, the main character rarely has conversations with the girl like Joel and Ellie did and I have yet to see one cutscene....

story telling is all about cinematic hollywood style cutscenes..... like Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, Tomb Raider, GTA5, Uncharted, Last of Us... this game has no cool hollywood style cutscenes :(

As someone who played the first one, I agree, the BioShock stories suck. I don't care about cinematic vs world building. A good story is a good story, and these games do not have good stories. Or, I should say "game"--singular--because I had no inclination AT ALL to buy any sequel after the disappointment of the first game.

No. Not even close. A good story is good, regardless of delivery. Me personally? I believe that games can tell stories in a ways movies and books can't even comprehend. With movies, you watch the main character, but with games, you are the main character. Games don't have to settle for narrative, when they can deliver experience.

The only halfway decent thing any Bioshock game did was the twist in the first game. Everything else was bad-meh

Even the so-called twist was meh. I got to it and people were asking me, "See? Wasn't that just the most mind-blowing thing ever?!" I was like, "Uh, no, not really..." BioShock does style very well, but substance is very lacking.
