Game play.

You really should have lumped Exploration, Game Play, and Battle System all into the same category of Game Play, because that's basically what they are. All of it should be lumped together because it's all the same thing. Hell, you could count character interactions as well, depending on how they're implemented. Speaking to NPCs and going around interacting with the environment counts as game play as well.

"Cute" is a kiddy euphemism for "Sexy".
Online is the worst thing to happen to gaming.

Swann:This is the last time.I'm tired of running damage control every time he makes a mess
Campbell:Right. You're the control, and if that fails,I'm the damage

Story, specifically the love story between the two main leads. After playing through VIII, IX and X, I was pretty gobsmacked when I found out that there is none to seen in XII and XIII.

I'm crossing my fingers that XV will remedy this series back.

This. But if he just had battle system without the /gameplay it would of been fine too. How it is atm is a bit odd though.

Anyways for me it's the characters. I actually prefer WRPGs for gameplay (well JRPG battle system, WRPG everything else)

I voted Exploration, because it's a part of the gameplay I love. The reason why I play FF are the same reasons why I like other RPG's and why I don't like FFXIII.

It used to be the battle system/gameplay. But that was back when it was closer to a more traditional turn based system rather than the modern emphasis on action and speed.

Other. I USED to play FF. Anything after FF X/X-2 got lame. When I did, it was mostly for the story and exploration.
