whats the difference between a kiddie game and a game for everyone

educational software that teaches basic things like language, numbers etc. are usually kids only.
games like sly cooper, ratchet and clank, and various other platformers are good for everyone though.

Personally, I think "kiddie" is just a term created by frat boys and kids who play shooters to mock games with colourful cartoony graphics, no matter how good they are. I want more games with colourful cartoony graphics, though. I'm sick of everything having to be gritty, realistic, and grey and brown these days.

Lot of times that's what it seems like. Kids rather play games that are not targeted for them and be playing "what's cool".

Kiddy = game pretty much exclusively aimed at children
Game for everyone = game people of all ages enjoy

Just think of it like this:
Animated Disney movies = enjoyed by everyone
Teletubbies = Pretty much exclusively enjoyed by kids

Also, everyone in this topic who considers Kirby a 'kiddy' game really has no idea what the hell they're talking about. Kirby games are full of charm that people of all ages enjoy. And many Kirby games actually have many challenging things in them to do outside of just the main game. Those things wouldn't be there if the game was exclusively aimed at young children.

If you enjoy a game, it's for everyone. If you want to win an argument about a game you dislike, it is kiddie.

Do you judge games based on what they are? Or what they aren't?

The answer is very simple to me. Do you feel embarassed playing it in front of your friends, parents, wife, girlfriend / boyfriend, husband, significant other or anyone else?

If the answer to that question is YES, then we're talking about a kids game.
If you answer NO, then it's for everyone.

Lol wut? That makes no sense.

So by that logic if you feel embarrassed watching porn in front of your parents then its for kids?

I still don't believe most people on gamefaqs are even gamers. Just assuming they are embodiments of hate and stupidity taking digital form.

"Kiddy" is something so poorly constructed that even parents of elementary school age children should be offended. Pretty much exclusively applies to cash-in license games.
