Name a game that doesn't get much attention, but is a quality game, and why so?

Fatal Frame
It is scary but it doesn't rely solely on blood and gore to scare you.

But nowadays people want non-linear fast-pace games, pew pew games. Fatal Frame is none of those.

Regarding knights contract, it does feel like an escort mission but at the same time I feel that it was done in a unique way...also many reviews state that the sorceress is useless and cant take care of herself...I didn't find that at all. I spent 20 bucks on it and felt like it was well worth it, no "buyers remorse" or anything.

I'm gonna have to find a copy of that somewhere to nab. It's one I thought looked interesting (and apparently I'm not the only one who thought as much.)

I have to disagree with Fatal Frame as well. The series as a whole received a great deal of attention. It spans four (five depending on how you look at it) games available on 3+ consoles.

It's a quality franchise that is well known and well talked about in it's genre and often times outside of it.

Everything's shiny, Cap'n. Not to fret.
Go hardcore with glitter on the floor.

Fatal Frame is popular. If you ask "most scary game", usually there are mostly post about Silent Hill or Fatal Frame. You just see less of it these days because the series moved to nintendo and the fourth game didn't get officially localized

Not going to get into extensive details, but rather snippets...

Eternal Sonata getting overlooked because it's a JRPG or because it doesn't have trophies.

Virtua Fighter, because people are told it's hard and avoid playing it.

Tekken, because people see 100+ moves on a movelist and get scared of it.

Shaq Fu, is a great game once you get used to the input lag on the controller.

DmC gets hated on because of a haircut, the music, or the "emo" Dante. Getting passed that, it's a solid game and not much different than say... Bayonetta, which people love. Go figure?

Thomas was Alone is one of the best, simplest games I've ever played in my life.

Costume Quest is a great JRPG, easy and short, but still great.

PixelJunk Eden is a game very few have played and heard of, but it's a single game that's worth it for everyone to just spend about an hour with, even if they never touch it again.

I appreciate people bringing up Trinity, it seems pretty cool.

Anyway, Fuel is the game I usually mention for these topics, it's a really interesting open-world racing game set in a post-apocalyptic world. It's typically ignored because it's off-road racing and most people just know Codemasters for GRID and DIRT, but it's really solid. It's basically the game Motorstorm Apocalypse ought to have been.

Pure is also a pretty cool arcade-style racing game that never gets talked about. It's also slightly akin to the older (better) motorstorm games, but it's purely focused on ATVs and there's a bigger focus on stunts.

Dirt Showdown is yet another unique racer, this time focusing on destruction derbies, trick competitions, stadium races, and other such redneck racing events. Everything is pretty well-polished and the presentation definitely sets it apart from other games.

PS3 is secretly top tier for racing games, it has like a thousand of them.

I was friends with a guy who had the game and let me play it. It's quite fun, I had a good time with Pure.

"Yes, I play Trinity Soul too.
But I am not sure why it's called Trinity since we only play as two characters? The big man and speedy woman."

And the third, the main character who you started off with, I think, Areus, the half-elf. That makes three. :)

Dear TC,
You did not get the joke, did you? :(

Hint: Remember the ending of the game.

"Hint: Remember the ending of the game."

Never beat the game. Put about 20 hours in the first stretch, started playing again a couple days ago, and have put another 10 hours in.

Dead 2 Rights: Retribution.

Love everything about it.

Brutal combat
Great gunplay
awesome takedown and disarming moves
tossing enemies over edges with no invisible walls
controlling the dog is killer fun (and a killer in general)
easy flowing story that makes sense to the end
control is really responsive and does what you need, exactly when you need it
sound is really done well, too.

Just fantastic through and through, but probably dismissed as a generic brawler/shooter
