Gaming as addictive as heroin? How many hours did your PS3 steal from you?

#1spycubaPosted 7/9/2014 1:39:53 AM
Do you spend as much time with friends & family? Will you tell your grandsons about those 1000s of hours WASTED for NOTHING in that you could have built companies, houses, written books or become a soccer star for germany in all this time? What will you tell your grandchildren when all you know is gaming?

I wish I could be a pro athlete but I'm too old for that. For the rest of us untalented and ugly people we play games because it's all we have.

Why link to an article that tears your point apart?

would be exactly the same as in heroin addiction in the sense that this is an activity that becomes the most important thing in your life, it compromises everything else in your life including your relationship, work and hobbies."It's something you use as a way of modifying your mood. It's something that builds up tolerance over time, so you need more and more. It's something where you get withdrawal symptoms if you're unable to engage in it. And it's something that if you do manage to give up for a short time when you do the activity again you relapse.

Sounds a lot like some peoples' addiction to their relationships.

I am not making a point, I am simply asking questions. And i think the article is really good because it sums it all up quite nicely so people have all the information to make a good choice.

You know its never too late? There is 70 year olds running marathons or doing iron man. There is tons of sports like golf, mountain climbing or paddling you can still get a pro in, or any other area not just sports.

But I'm not going to tell that to my grandchildren.

Britain is in the grip of a gaming addiction which poses as big a health risk as alcohol and drug abuse

What the hell? Sure videogames can be addictive but comparing it to drugs and alcohol is stupid.

Its all the same in this aspect: Too much of it, and it will ruin your life... I lost a friend who was playing COD all day. He let his life just slip away. Did not take care of himself. His downfall began. And now he plays Battlefield.
