Why didn't Sony go with the Boomerang controller for the PS3?

People would start throwing controllers like a boomerang. People get hurt, things broken, Sony sued. We don't want that :p

you know I have 2 ps1 controllers , both the one without the analog stick and with it... I dont actually have the console anymore but I still have both of the controllers...

DS4 is still better!

PS1>PS3>PS2

Fact

They are the same controller...

You say that now, but go back and pick them up one after the other. You'll notice how they're different.

The boomerang controller was a stupid, stupid idea and I'm glad they dropped it. The Dualshock is perfect as it was.

Good one!

The Dualshock is one of the more uncomfortable controllers I have held. Even unlicensed NES controllers were better. The 360 controller feels so good in my hands compared to the small, anti-ergonomic DS3. I haven't held the current gen controllers yet but I have heard good things about them.

Well, that's probably because you have asymmetrical mutant hands. Those of us with our thumbs in the same place on both hands prefer a Dualshock.

Bad retort. But yes, the left analog stick is placed better on the 360. Symmetry isn't always a good thing.

Because you have asymmetrical mutant hands. The 360 controller felt like it was designed by Sloth from Goonies. If you prefer it, it's because you're not fully human or have some sort of faulty DNA.

Boomerang controller? *google*
Oh God. That thing looks uncomfortable as hell. Just looking at where the shoulder buttons are is giving me hand cramps.

Anyways, the all the DS iterations have been perfect for me. They all just fit like a glove.

360 controller was crap, the D-Pad felt unnatural squishy and nasty (and absolutely felt uncomfortable when playing fighting games)

I take a PSP D-pad anyway over that hideous 360 D-Pad anyday

Also TC, the PS1 & and PS2 controllers didn't have L2 and R2 triggers like the PS3 controller (meaning the back buttons for the PS1 and PS2 were just buttons, in which made them feel different from a PS3 controller) and the PS3 controller had motion control...

The original PS1 controllers were gray and didn't have analog sticks till the mid 90's or so
