but mostly because the story wasn't told all that well imo.
The codec stuff really fleshes out the story though.
Eh, I'd rather the story be presented to me, not make me check into my crew every time I enter a new area or something happens. SUre, it happened before, but the majority of other MGS stories were told in cutscenes.
Behold and gaze upon the magnificent monstrosity what stands before thee; the beast of possibility. http://backloggery.com/calhoun1389
I loved the game personally and replayed it many times, the story wasn't as great as other Metal Gear games and it was a bit short but as a hack 'n' slash game it'd be slightly annoying if there was 20 minute cut-scenes in-between each stage, the way I see it, it's called Metal Gear RISING not Metal Gear SOLID so it's like a separate series (though is still technically canon, takes place 4 years after MGS4)
Damn, I didn't even use the subweapons, aside from blasting those little tripods in the subway area. Barely used the other main weapons either. Basically I just ran straight into every fight with the sword and hacked everything to bits. Especially once I got the wigs and stuff. Infinite Ripper Blade Mode turns the game into a joke (but in a good way). With time slowed down so much you can just walk up the enemies and chop them to bits before they can react.
