What fighter in the game uses a traditional karate style?

I study Matsubayashi Shorin-ryu and am curious to know which fighter uses a more traditional karate style. I have a feeling that no one in the game uses a traditional karate style.

Jin. Very close to Goju-ryu and Kyokushin imo.

Really? Hm, I was thinking Bob because Tekkenpedia says "Freestyle Karate" but I don't know what that means.

No, Bob style is NOTHING like traditional karate, it's just a mix of a bunch of martial arts. Jin is your traditional karate character.

Alright, well what about Heihachi and Kazuya? Are their styles fake or are they based on something real as well?

"Freestyle Karate" is basically an American version of karate, often with weird looking outfits and very flashy dance-like katas which have very little to do with the original ones, and kickboxing. It sure as hell isn't any kind of traditional karate.

Of course a good question is, is Kyokushinkai even? Considering that traditional karate is strictly Okinawan, and supposedly quite different from the Japanese versions.

Hei and Kaz use Mishima Karate, which Namco made up according to Harada-san.

Kyokushin isn't a traditional karate style, but it's pretty damn close to one. After all, Mas Oyama created Kyokushin based on Goju-ryu and other styles such as Shotokan, which is also Okinawan I believe. I've also done a little bit of Goju-ryu as well. The biggest difference I could tell is that Kyokushin put power above other things. While all the basic techniques are very similar, our techniques are very big and emphasize more on power (as in rotations and such), while Goju-ryu techniques are smaller and emphasize more on speed.
