Super Smash Bros. Battle Cards (For anyone who likes Pokemon TCG)

#1Shadowmaster900Posted 2/18/2009 11:34:37 AM
I have made a set of 43 cards based on the first Smash Brothers game. Here are some of them:

I only take credit in putting the cards together, not creating the designs. The actual designs of the card (Referred to as card blanks by Pokemon Fake TCG Designers) were made by Cascade Gonpory.

Sadly I do not know the designers of the Energy Symbols used in the Smash Brothers Battle Cards (Except I made the Smash and Star Energy Symbols). All I know of is that they came from the website below.

http://www.fakecard.com/

The creators of the Illustrations used in the cards are listed on the cards themselves. If I do not know who has created the picture (This happens a lot with screenshots from games and this cannot be helped), I will list where the picture originated from.

... Sorry I have to put that disclaimer on nearly every single page I post the cards on. XD

WOW this is nice. Trips me all the way back to 1999 when I was in middle school and used to collect these things like mad. I bet a smash card game modeled after Final fantasy 8's card game would work as well. Game and watch would have at least an 8 on one of his sides to represent his beastly Bair.

The actual designs were of course made by the people that created the Pokémon TCG. He just copied them.

True, but you wouldn't believe how many Pokemon Fake TCG designers complain if you don't credit them or removed their names from the card. X____x

Nice. I have a couple of criticisms, though:

Fox's Blaster attack is overpriced. Either change the damage to 20x, or change the energy cost to 2 Smash energies.

The descriptions for Kirby's Smash Power and Swallow attack are a bit vague. Assuming I interpreted them correctly, I would suggest changing them to something along the lines of this:

Convert: As many times as you like during your turn (before you attack), you may choose one energy card attached to Kirby, and one other type of energy card (that need not even be in your deck). As long as this energy card is attached to Kirby, it is considered to be the second type of energy card that you picked. This power may be used multiple times on the same card.

Swallow: Choose one Smasher in play (yours or your opponent's), and choose one of their attacks. Provided the necessary energy cards are attached to Kirby, you may use that attack against that Smasher, and its energy type is considered to be the same as the target Smasher's energy type.

Thanks, you're the only person to have given me criticism so far.

I only did that for Fox's Blaster cause it was based off Fossil Set Geodude's attack, which required 1 Fighting and 1 Colorless. So I guess I could make it 1 Fire and 1 Smash (Seeing as how Fox needs 1 Fire to perform his first attack anyways).

Convert was purposely written like that. XD But I'll change it so it makes more sense (Because it works nothing like how you wrote). And your description of Swallow is a lot better than mine, so I'll change it to that as well.

Awesome! ^___^

... Gamefaqs seriously needs a quoting option... And that edit post feature. :\ XD
