Looks like Indiana Jones' video game adventures might not be completely canceled, at least according to a newly (and unofficially) released trailer for Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings for the Wii.
Wait, the Wii? Yes, it looks like rumors about Indy's demise on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms were pretty accurate — and probably foretold by this post — and that LucasArts' commitment to the "franchise" is genuine.
Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings will arrive on the Wii, Nintendo DS and at least one PlayStation platform starting this Spring. Both the ESRB and PEGI say that PlayStation platform is the PSP, but it may also mean the PlayStation 2.
If the trailer is indicative of gameplay settings, it looks like Indiana Jones' adventures will span familiar territories in Staff of Kings. We just can't wait to see how much whip-waggling we'll do.
oh, and it looks like it's coming out on the ps2, also.
at the end of the new trailer (above) it shows Playstation along with wii. I wonder which one will be better? hope this doesn't mean i need to buy a wii now...i have a ps3, so if it comes out on ps2, i'll just get that one and avoid buying a wii.
Thats a smart move by the lucasarts. The user base for the Wii makes the xbox/ps3 look like a fool. Any person wanting to make $$$ which is what every business wants to do.... would put it out on the Wii or ps2.
^not really, they just pissed off all their next gen fans. people who were promised three years ago that the next gen indy game was coming, was postponed, disappeared, now cancelled...they just lost an incredible amount of trust and respect. at least any that was left after the COO of EA games became president last Feb. 08.
If they are really going to make it for the wii, then it may as wel be an adventure game. Like the Indy games were in the beginning. That would make sense to me. But if it's an action game then I really don't get why it's not coming to PS3 & Xbox360...
yeah, it's a shame there aren't more puzzle games like that, and IJ-type games in general. I like using my brain to solve puzzles in videogames more than just running and gunning like so many nowadays.
