So a few chapters ago, people kept saying "wait till chapter 11."

Now I'm there, not too far though, I can't find any info on exactly WHERE in Chapter 11. I've read somewhere that I gotta do missions, but I've also read in certain places that I don't need to.

Anyways, exactly where IN Chapter 11 can I farm Gil? I don't have Vanille's Eidolon. I'm too early, right?

I don't know, I played Mission 7 like 50 times and didn't get a thing, and even later in the story I tried another 30 times and nothing....never doing that again

Instead I went past the Steppe into the Mah'bara caves and started killing the ice bomb things
There's a trail before you get to a juggernaunt sub boss where you can fight a few of them, but if you just started Chp. 11 you may have to preemptive strike them because they tend to explode on you before you kill them. They drop Bomb Cores which can be sold for a reasonable amount and are also good materials for leveling up your weapons. You can do this until you are strong enough to take on the whole steppe.

it's all really a matter of perspective...
