You know what I find funny (Spoilers)

Before this game everyone was like "Balmar isn't a threat in OG they my not even be around anymore, Zovorg is the major threat" and look what happened.
Looking back I find it a little funny.

Anyone with any @ experience could have told you that the Balmar aren't to be overlooked.

Though the way they handeled the Inspectors in OG2 gave the ZA a very nasty aura (add to that fans experience from F/FF)

Did the Guests even invade Earth? I felt they just flew around in space and did nothing but get their asses whooped by everyone, including the Ruina, GS, Masoukishin and Steel Dragon team.

Zeb: Ah, yeah, about that. I tried that, but they escorted me out.

Guest jobbed to EVERYONE. I guess BP wanted to get them out of the way quick and dirty-like.

I would say that 2nd OGs is a bit transitional. I think 3rd OGs, now that BP's more familiar with the PS3, will have that same epic feel that @3 did. 2nd OGs is @2 in more ways than one, I guess. It also explains all the water stages.

Anyway, that's just my idiotic observations. I've played SRW so much that I've kinda worn grooves into the game itself, in a metaphysical sense from my perspective, or something.

...give me a break. I'm not feeling well and the antibiotic's probably messing with my though processes.

The previous games did leave the impression there wasn't much to Balmar in this universe. I thought I remember one point where Nibhal, thinking to himself, was rather dismissive of the Aerogaters and suggested there wasn't much more to come from Balmar. Which certainly helped suggest the idea that he was a Zuvorg/other alien agent, rather than his real loyalties.

Yes, but as someone did point out, the Guest faction itself isn't that big or that dangerous. The reason they were so dangerous in F and F FInal is because they were allied with Poseidal. So in the OG verse, with none of that, they're a much smaller fish comparatively. And game mechanics play into it, as well. Afterall, the Inspectors weren't nearly as fearsome in OGs as they were in the original OG2.

Yeah, not having Poseidal around makes Guest pretty pathetic. Beam coats early in F were insane. You were stuck at 5 upgrades, so a beam coat meant that most of your reals were prevented from doing OHKOs. So you had to use supers or pray for crits, and supers in those days couldn't hit the broad side of the barn if it fell on them.

The reason the Inspectors weren't as scary in 1st OGs is because the whole thing was rebalanced. The twin system lets you output more damage if someone has Soul, PP caps at 9999 instead of 999, the math may have been altered (I'm pretty sure attack power is higher; I don't even know if the GBA version had 15-bar Special), and the skill system lets you overwrite anything aside from stuff like TK (because maybe three or four characters with support defense ACTUALLY deserve it, not counting battleship captains). You also have a few new units.

I think 1st OGs is so good it obsoletes the GBA games, language barrier be damned. But that's just me. :3
