When do you think we'll get our next HD SRW?

SRW OG2nd getto!

Never.

But seriously with the way Japan is migrating to portables I think after Z3, assuming that gets an HD release along with OG 3rd, SRW might find a permanent home on portables with SD Gundam G Gen.

I hope they were actually developing a non-OG SRW along with getting this 2nd OG out so we don't have to wait for too long. Not to mention that PS4 will be announced this month. I wish I'll get a few more SRW for PS3 before they decided to jump on PS4 :x

The thing is though it'll take a while for them to do PS4 seeing as they were on the PS2 for a long time even after PS3 came out.

But PS3 was really a problem back then(technology/development or something) compared to PS4 which is supposed to correct all that problem/mistake they made on PS3 and make it easier for the developers. So it really shouldn't take much time for the developers to learn(maybe they don't even need to at all.) compared to PS2 > PS3.

That seems like a bit of a leap in logic. The PS4 is kinda hush-hush at the moment. There's plenty of speculation and rumours, but I don't think we can seriously nail down the complications of programming next generation games at this point.

It's curious to look at when certain consoles launched and when a SRW game appear on those consoles - I've gone with SRW games and not spin offs, like SR Spirits came out on the N64 long before SRW 64 did.

Console - Launch / Game - Launch - Time between them
PSX - Dec 1993 / SRW 4S - 1996/01/26 - Little over 1 year
SS - Nov 1994 / SRW F - 1997/09/25 - Almost 3 years
N64 - Jun 1996 / SRW 64 - 1999/10/29 - Little over 3 years

DC - Nov 1998 / SRW@DC - 2001/08/30 - Almost 3 years
PS2 - Mar 2000 / SRW Im - 2002/03/28 - Almost 2 years
NGC - Sep 2001 / SRW GC - 2004/12/16 - Little over 3 years
XBX - Nov 2001 / None

360 - Nov 2005 / SRW XO - 2006-11-30 - Almost 1 year on the dot
PS3 - Nov 2006 / SRW OG2- 2012-11-29 - 6 whole years
Wii - Dec 2006 / SRW NEO- 2009-10-29 - Almost 3 years

GBA - Mar 2001 / SRW A - 2001-09-21 - 6 months
PSP - Dec 2004 / SRW MXP- 2005-12-19 - 1 year
NDS - Nov 2004 / SRW W - 2007-03-01 - Almost 2.5 years

3DS - Feb 2011 / SRW UX - 2013-03-14 - Little over 2 years
PSV - Dec 2011 / None so far

I think I've got most of the dates right, typed this up in a hurry.

Edit: The point I was trying to make is that we can't quite guess when Banpresto will make a game for a certain console(eg PS4), sometimes they jump in very quick, others they wait a long time before creating anything.

Doubly so, considering the PS3 has taken an unusually long time, which throws our estimates into a tizzy.

Or 7 years, if we don't count ports. And I think it's very important to make distinctions between new games, and ports of games released a year or seven previous.

There's a full two years, there.
