Some useful information about game mechanics

Here's some useful info about game mechanics from the Official Complete Guide and Perfect Guide.

Short Counter, Short Revenge and Short Double

Counter : Character have 10% chances of evading and counterattacking a short range enemy attack. Must learn Short Counter in skill line.
Revenge : Character have 25% chances of attacking a enemy after being damaged by the enemy short range enemy attack. Must learn Short Revenge in skill line first.
Double : Character have 30% chances of using a follow up attack after damaging an enemy with a short range attack/art. Must learn Short Revenge in skill line first.

Shion's counter seems to activate only against human enemies.

Note that special attacks and ether skills don't trigger any of these three skills, only attacks and arts.

Counter and Revenge can be followed up by Double.

Accessories that increase any of those three skills, always increase it chances by 25%. The boost seems (not sure about that) to be calculated by addition, in this case Counter would become 35%, Revenge 50% and Double 55%.

"Null enemy evade" skill seems not to affect Counter, at least in E.S. battles.




Small and Large rare item: Increases drop rate of rare items by 10% and 25% respectively. This effect seems to be calculated by multiplying EX; rare item with 10% default drop rare will become 12,5% with Large Rare Item effect, not 35%.

Small, Medium and Large G drop: Increase money Acquired after battle to 1.5 times, 2 times and 3 times of the default value. EX: Azazel default money drop value is 2000 G, it becomes 3000 G with Small, 4000 G with Medium and 6000 G With Large.

Small SP+, Large SP+: Increases SP acquired after battle to 1.5 and 2 times of the default value respectively.

Small EXP+, Large EXP+: Increases SP acquired after battle to 1.25 and 1.5 times of the default value respectively.

The effects are activated only if the character that defeat the enemy is equipped with accessory that has one of those effect. All characters in battle receive the bonus SP and EXP as long the enemy is defeated by one character that has the accessory equipped.

You get G, SP, EXP and drop items from all enemies that you've defeated in battle even if you escape. This is very useful if you want to farm something without zoning.
