Premise 1: Blizzard profits from the RMAH.

Which will probably go towards the cost of making expansions for the game

Premise 2: Blizzard has the power to make design choices that encourage people to use the RMAH.

Doesn't mean they will(not discounting that they won't),

Conclusion: The RMAH presents a conflict of interest that could/has corrupted Blizzard's design choices.

Opinion not fact.

i complete agree OP. I have the same feeling as you. I'm just not interested in these classes from what I've seen. nothing stands out. They made the classes so similar like WoW.

You never played Diablo 2 ?

Take a Ferrari. Pretty good car, but way expensive. Now let's take a Civic. It's an equally good car, but not as sporty looking-PhoenixPrince

I'm more than willing to hear a counterargument. Here, I'll even condense it for you sans the conspiracy theory:

Premise 1: Blizzard profits from the RMAH.
Premise 2: Blizzard has the power to make design choices that encourage people to use the RMAH.
Conclusion: The RMAH presents a conflict of interest that could/has corrupted Blizzard's design choices.

of coruse they do, they sold items in D2's Expansion also. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to realize that laws havnt caught up with technology. And due to that actiblizzard can do whatever the hell they want with thier intellectual property (imaginary property or whatevery you wanna call it).. Which includes duping thier items and sellin them in bulk to 3rd person websites(d2LOD), or in d3's case right on the RMAH.

thats why its so funny that people think they are going to make money off of it. Actiblizzard has to puch a button to make and sell dozens or items, while you spend hours farming. goodluck selling stuff cheaper then them.

Only difference between D2 and D3 is activision got into the game late with d2 so they had to work with the 3rd party sites. Now they are smart enough to cut out the middle man.

Opinion not fact.

The RMAH presents a conflict of interest. Fact.
There is a possibility that this conflict of interest has corrupted or may corrupt Blizzard's design choices. Fact.

The only opinion is that it has or will corrupt design choices.

Doesn't mean they will

What is stopping them? Ethics?

When was the last time ethics stopped a big company from maximizing profits?

I cant tell if you actually think youre making a sensible argument... or if youre really just trying to further discredit the haters... very elaborate sir, and does youre previous trolling justice.

I fail to see what design choices they can make that will actually optimize their profit. Make items rarer? It will make the prices go up, but there will be less transactions. Make the items less rare? It will make the prices go down, but there will be more transactions. Either way, we can’t know for sure how much items will sell, and they can’t know what designs will increase their profit.

Make sure every class can equip anything? In a way, more sword-using classes mean swords might sell more… but then, it makes gearing characters easier in game, and thus make it less likely that people will turn to the RMAH to gear up.

The fact that they removed runes as items… that actually goes counter to the idea that they design the whole game around the RMAH, since I’m sure those would have sold very well.

In short, aside from conspiracy theories (“it’s abusiness, OF COURSE they will do every dirty tricks to force us into spending on the RMAH!”) we have no way of knowing for sure how much of content, IF ANY, has been modified for the RMAH, and if they did, if it will turn out for the worse for us.

I find it also funny that I have seen complaints about the lack of difficulty/casualization of the game while on the other hand people are convinced Blizz is going to twist our arm to buy from the RMAH… if they did really make the game so easy, then I fail to see why people would pay.

Lol @ the hilarious Blizzard fanboy nerd rage ITT (Of which I'm willing to bet 80% of these didn't even play the original Diablo) - is there a more laughable fanbase in the entire industry? That's rhetorical.

I completely agree, OP. All 5 classes are painfully, painfully boring - I'm not even sure who I'll pick for my first run-through purely because they're all so utterly bland. The game will still be fun, mind, but it's just not the same without Blizzard North behind it.

says the 12 year old with a 150 karma account.

if the game is so boring, why the hell would u even buy the game? stay out of the game 12 year old.

don't buy the game.

Yes, my opinion is less valid because I haven't spent years arguing with people on GameFAQs like you have. The shame.

Well, I'm 21 and if you'd actually read my post instead of throwing a little hissy-fit, you'd see that I never said the game would be boring - in fact quite the opposite, I said it'd be fun. I said the classes are boring, because they are.

See, this is what I'm talking about when it comes to Blizzard's fanboys - zero logic, zero intelligence, zero comprehension; just balls-to-the-wall stupidity and insults because someone doesn't think absolutely every aspect of everything produced by Blizzard is beyond exceptional.

I bet you're the type of kid that swore at his Mother as a teenager because she bought you the wrong colour car. Grow up.
