with a respectable amount of people beating diablo on inferno, i'm wondering where you can go from there. Is the only thing left to do getting better loot so you can kill faster?

Four more classes with unique skills, abilities, and equipment.

At least 16 more playthroughs.

32 if you care about hearing all the dialogue, because then you can choose the other genders too.

Basically, they thought long and hard about adding endgame content.

And their ultimate solution was copy pasting Hell into Inferno with stats buff.

Genius, uh? Worst idea of the year IMO, but there you go. I actually thought they would spend a few seconds thinking neat end game scenarios and things to do.

the thing is this game is not giving me the same vibe as D2 was. in D2 i had loads of characters with weird/interesting/unusual builds and trying to find equipment to match each plus a manageable playing style was great fun. In D3 items are ranked from bad (1 dps) to good (2000 dps) with not much variation in between. It kind of robs the game of its spontaneity it comparison with D2.

I have to agree with this the main thing I don't like is the fact you can't find cool gear with neat random effects no all you need is high dps/armor and the appropriate stat+ also even though the weapons have elemental damages I don't really feel like they do because there is no real noticable effect from this.... Like in other games where if you hit something with a poison weapon they will have continuos poison damage for a set time or with a cold weapon it might slow them down.... But no they do nothing....
