DPS on weapons

Does it include the added benefits of additional stats? (i.e. additional damage from additional dex/str/int) or is it just the base damage of the weapon itself?

It doesn't include the additional benefits. After equipping the weapon look at the damage stat in your detailed stat window. That number is also affected by temporary buffs.

It includes everything.

So when u see a 1k DPS weapon it got rolled nicely with like +IAP, +poison/electric dmg,+dmg, and then whatever dmg stat for your class

When you look at the weapon, the stat boost for dmg is not there. On the auction house, the socketed gems is also not displayed as dmg boost.

It includes all added damage from weapon mods but NOT stat increases.

For example, a weapon has 100-200 base damage, then adds 200-300 holy damage, then 15% ias, then 15% ed. ALL of those stats are included in the DPS rating on the weapon itself.

If the same said weapon adds +100 dex, +100 str, and +100 int, it will not increase the dps of the weapon. It will, of course, increase the dps of your char more than the same weapon without the stats.

Okay. It seems majority seems to agree that the DPS shown is indeed the base damage. Thanks for the inputs. It's just crazy that I have to take into account dex, aspd, crit hit damage, crit hit chance, and most importantly, the price itself, just to buy a weapon.

Blizzard should have made it to where there was a stat comparison screen when going to buy something off the AH that way you could know how good (or not as good) of an upgrade something is compared to what you already have.
