Level requirement for legendary items

#1MilonPosted 6/11/2012 6:02:36 AM
A friend of mine found a String of Ears in Hell act 2 right before ZK. Looking at the item's required level, my original thought was this can't be found after Hell Act 2 and Act 3, and looks like I was right. (Feel free to correct me)

If someone here found one after Hell Act 3 or in Hell Ponies, please post here. I am trying to understand how item level works in this game. Does it mean in order to farm low level legendary item, we have to go to a lower difficulty?

I think Jay wilson said specifically that nothing under level 50 drops in inferno.

Diablo 3 is already boring... Such a disappointment.

I think so, because there are no high level Boj Anglers

Quick question - don't want to make new topic.
Do people actually buy legendary items on the AH? If so why when rares can be better for cheaper? Also, if they do sell what's popular?

Yes people buy them. Mostly there are a lot of people that like to collect the legendary's to show off. Or to just run around with a full equip of them. It may not be good but some people still find it fun.

Looks like Jay is wrong on this one. Looking at the level requirement of String of Ears, I doubt it can be dropped after Hell Act 3. Again, someone prove me wrong if you know for sure.

Stop spreading false information. The real reason is some legendaries have unique stats that are really good. Boj Anglers(boots) have attack speed % (hard to find an unglitched dex pair, though), string of ears or tears or whatever (belt) has a huge melee % damage reduction, storm shield (shield) just has super nice stats for a shield and high block %, some legendary rings have large block % increase + other great Barb stats (resists, attack speed, LoH), some legendary amulets have huge LoH and tanking stuff, etc, etc

tl;dr: not all legendaries suck ass

I didn't say legendaries suck ass, I said it wasn't a good idea to run around with nothing but them equipped. There is a difference.

Absolutely. I've made at least two million flipping Tal Rasha's Guardianship chests and Sage's Seekers.

Both set items, but legendaries sell too. Depends how keen your eye is for stats (would not recommend flipping Sage's Seekers. Both times I bought them to resell I regretted it instantly, but apparently some people have a worse eye for value than me).
