1. There is nothing to win in this game.
2. I beat Inferno by making money, and not spending a cent on an item.
3. A lot of other people have done number 2.
4. There is no PvP and it is easy to get good enough gear to beat Inferno.
5. Since there is no PvP you don't need this "godly" gear you all claim to need.
6. If you believe this is pay to win you are not in Inferno then.

I have better gear than my friend that actually spent hundreds on the RMAH, and I've never spent a cent of my own money on the RMAH and have actually turned a slight profit so far.

The fact that you can beat the game by paying your way is what makes it 'pay to win'

It is most definitely a pay to win game.. Just because you dont choose to doesnt mean others cant.

But you're preaching to a crowd that prefers to steamroll through the game as opposed to working through it.

Wait until PvP comes out then say it's not Pay2Win.

1. Exactly. It is all perception. The fact that I have elite items because I spent a mint on them doesn't mean I won anything. It just pisses off gaming "purists" who'd rather I play like them.
2. I beat inferno because I was geared. Izual pre 1.03. Diablo faceroll post-1.03.
3. Most everybody has done #2
4. yep, again, all perception
5. ditto
6. Either they aren't in inferno yet, or they equate what my barb is wearing as "winning". If this is the case, I hate it for them when reality stomps them in the face.

No. That is pay to "beat the game faster". There are no medals, accolades, or sexy ladies waiting for you at the finish line.

Who's winning? The game is not designed to end.

It's more like "pay if you suck too bad to win otherwise"

You're right, once PVP comes out, everyone will be required to play in the stupid little arenas, and winning in PVP = winning the game.

Historically, the majority of diablo players haven't been major pvp players- more in D2 than in D1, but still. And even then it was mostly just griefing for lulz.

Worst thing about grammar police: They're cannibals. If one makes a single typo or error while 'critiquing' someone, they will be EVISCERATED by their fellows.
