So theres no trick to the insane, obscene, astronomical armor values

That people are getting in Act 3- they just buy super ultra mega expensive gear?

So there is flat out no way for my monk to progress until they fix the AH- hopefully I will have amassed a vast fortune by then.

Well, which characters have the easiest time dealing with the limitations of the AH?

Are barbs still omgwtf moneysinks?

Yes they are. The ranged classes are still the cheapest to gear and clear act 3-4 with.

People like to say barbs are now op, when in reality, we are still insanely gear dependent.

The only difference is post patch, expensive gear can actually reliably keep us alive. Pre patch, the best gear in the game still wouldn't see us through to the end without multiple deaths and cheesing content

Hmm, but the range classes all have to basically play D3 like a bullet hell game, right?

Either that or go for expensive specialist builds... albeit less expensive than those available to the other classes :P.

I still kinda wish they gave Belial the ability to shoot eye beam bullets. Woulda made that encounter amazingly humorous and fun (though maybe not for melee)

Yes, ranged classes still are bullet dodgers all game. The difference is, when you die in one shot in both the best and worst gear, the gear check really doesn't exist for you.

DH's for example still have all the tools required to dodge and avoid incoming attacks. Barbs and monks however, are forced to get hit and pray their gear is good enough to survive a hit.

That said, a Barb with 500mil worth of gear will destroy all of inferno easier than a ranged class ever could. The issue is the gear price

The problem I have with this game is that you need the AH to be able to even farm inferno effectively. They nerfed chests into the ground, so now your only option is to take on the hardest enemies in the game.....many times with straight up unfair affixs for just a small chance at getting good enough gear to progress.

Then there's repair costs and the fact that act 2-4 is a big middle finger to ranged classes. Lacuni, serpents, soul lashers, phase beasts, Harold of pestilence, fallen angels, etc. Inferno act 2-4 just isn't very fun IMO.

If you can't make an Act I worthy gearset from the gold you had from Hell, you need to play better or learn2gear.
If you can't make a gimmicky act II worthy gearset for less than, say, 3 million gold, you need to play better or learn2gear.
Even most of Act III doesn't really require gear, it just makes it go better.

A true tankset with 10k DPS can get through Act III for pretty damn cheap.

Stop whining and start playing or just shut up. AH is never going to "be fixed", prices are determined by supply and demand.
