Diablo III

Im level 47 HC monk and so far I just don't really see how the monk has very many useful skills..

they dont have any huge DPS or AOE's like barb's WOTB or earthquake, which I get b/c they are more tank/defense based....but I really don't see very many useful defensive skills. All the "healing" skills are a set amount rather than % of your life, so now that i have like 20k life an additional 200 heal per second or heal one time for 3k life isn't that helpful.

I'm sure I'm doing it wrong, so any HC monk veterans with skill/rune/passive suggestions would be much appreciated.

Note -- I'm not having difficulty at lvl 47..but I assume I will soon so I want to start using the best skill combos.

+15% dps rune on your heal spell.
+24/48% dps conviction aura
4 seconds of invulnerability / anti-cc / heal in one skill.
+50% armor
+20% resistances
2 skills that reduce mob damage by 20% off the top
Highest resist is all resists.
AOE primary attack

Learn to play son. Monks have some of the most op skills in the game.

Here's what I use:

LC: Deadly Reach - Keen Eye (Main attack, boosts defense)
RC: Wave of Light - Explosive Light (Healing w/ Transcendence and knock back)
1: Breath of Heaven - Blazing Wrath (Healing & damage boost)
2: Serenity - Tranquility (Panic button)
3: Mystic Ally - Earth Ally (lvl53; boosts health)
4: Mantra of Evasion - Hard Target (increased dodging and armor)

Passives: Transcendence, Seize the Initiative, One with Everything

The main problem is that you don't really do much aside from spam Deadly Reach and then use Wave of Light, Breath of Heaven, and Serenity in danger moments. So it's mostly just a survival build.
